Description

#2000 Walking Tour of the Valley of the Eagles Nest (Glen Eyrie)

Colorado Springs founder General William Jackson Palmer was looking for "some charming spot which might be made a future home," and found it in Glen Eyrie, the Valley of the Eagles Nest. This secluded valley is not only a confluence of mountain and plains geography, vegetation, and animal life, but also a crossroads of cultures. Join us for a walking tour of the Glen to discover the valley’s history and charm. The walk will be about two miles along roads and trails with moderate altitude change, and will require some stair climbing and two hours on your feet.

This is an outdoor tour and will not enter the castle. Bring water, a camera, and consider an umbrella, if the weather looks unsettled.

Location: Meet in the main parking lot of Glen Eyrie by the bookstore. Mention at the gate that you are there for a walking tour. Glen Eyrie, 3820 N 30th St, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

Current COVID guidelines apply (masks, social distancing, COVID waiver, and limited registration).  COVID Waiver (bring to tour)
