#2037 Summit Diplomacy and the Goal of Denuclearization in North Korea

Instructor: Dr. Bill Berry

In 2018, the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) entered into a series of bilateral summits to address the issue of the DPRK’s nuclear weapons programs with the goal of removing these weapons. This class will examine some of the contributing factors that prompted the various summits, the many difficulties that have developed, and the inability to even achieve a common definition of denuclearization.
