Description

Geopolitics: A Two Part class

Instructor: Paul Garrett

This presentation endeavours to refresh knowledge of world geography, to reintroduce the subject and its importance in understanding world affairs. However this presentation is not just about geography, the classical definition of Geopolitics, it is about how the intertwining of geography, history, geo-economics, and geo-technology have had and continue to have in formulating countries’ foreign policy; how shared borders can create tensions and conflicts; how the geography of a country can be protective or leave the country vulnerable to invasion and lead to wars; how the weaponisation of economic muscle and technology are transforming the geopolitical landscape and global balance of power as nothing has done in the past.
