Xu Beihong (1895 – 1953) is one of the most famous artists in China and is well known throughout Asia, but practically unheard of in the United States. A master artist – watercolor, oils, portraits, landscapes, and most famous for his “galloping horses” – Xu Beihong did it all.  Further - he served as a leader in the Chinese art world for many years. We will take a look at his life, his work, and his continuing legacy in China.

 

Sandy Halby, BS in Mathematics from the University of Alaska. She is a military vet and is retired from the federal government as a civil servant. Currently, she is president of a local Mensa group and active in the Pikes Peak Beekeepers Association.
