COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, caught medical science unprepared despite prior experience with SARS, MERS, and less clinically-threatening human coronaviruses. What vaccines and specific pharmaceuticals are in development to bring the pandemic to an end? These three classes will provide a microbiologist’s perspective on these topics, will introduce the biology and epidemiology of COVID-19, and then focus on vaccines and treatments.

Phoebe Lostroh, PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Harvard University, BA from Grinnell College in Biology.  She is currently an Associate Professor at Colorado College.
